Amy & Callum’s Queenstown NZ Heli Pre-Wedding Shoot

Flashback – I (James) met Amy back in 2012 when I was just starting my photography business in Wellington, and she was one of my first portrait models I practiced on! 9 years on, she met the love of her life Callum and the two are currently waiting for the whole pandemic to be over with, so that they can finally celebrate BIG with their friends and family in Thailand.

We chose Yanisa to do Amy’s Hair & Makeup, as they both spoke the same language (comfortable communication is so important!). Out of our list of Wedding Dress rental options, Amy chose this beautiful dress from Amoment – I think it’s an awesome choice for the mountains, especially with the flowy veil.

Helicopter Locations

Phil from HeliWorks took us to The Ledge at Cecil Peak, which at that time was just above the inversion layer of clouds – we were literally standing above the clouds! The second helicopter landing spot was at the Double Cone at Remarkables, which sits at 2300m above sea level, overlooking the whole of Queenstown. We were blessed with great weather and golden light in the afternoon, which created simply stunning backdrops for this photoshoot.
